Music has always been the focus of Ameerah's life. Her musical skills emerged at three-year-old when she started to sing along to Walt Disney songs. Her first big performance was at the age of six and has not stopped since. Influenced by Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Prince, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston she started paving her way.
As a child, Ameerah went to music school and attended acting and dance classes. At the age of fourteen, she won a free-stage competition by only singing a-capella . A couple of Television shows followed and it was her performance on Belgian Idol that didn’t go by unnoticed.
At 19 years old, this opportunity landed her a signed deal to a Belgian record label, which resulted in the release of two successful singles. For the next 4 years , she combined her music career with a Major Education at a renowned Filmschool ‘Rits’ in Europeans Capital , Brussels , studying to become a get a Master as a Film/TV director. “It was very tough, I was struggling but I’m so happy I managed “
After musical differences Ameerah with her first label, she decided to move on and continued with a signed deal with HighClazz Music Entertainment. For the next five years, her experience with HighClazz Music Entertainment began the search of her musical identity.
Ameerah started traveling the world to work with the crème de la crème of international producers, such as Red One (Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Usher,Akon , Mika , U2 , JLo ), Jorgen Elofsson (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson), Anders Bagge ( Meriola - 40 hit songs and 200 million sold ) Airborn ( Westlife , Celine Dion ) , REO ( Lil Wayne Bruno Mars, Beyoncé ) Mike City ( Brandy , Jamie Foxx ) , Mike McHenry ( Rihanna, Chris Brown and BEP ) , Sandy Vee ( Akon , David Guetta , Rihanna , Kelly Rowland ) , OFM ( Jay Sean ) and many many more.
She divided her time between her home in Belgium, Scandinavia (the Mecca of pop music) and the U.S.A. (the number 1 country of urban music) in order to develop her talent and skills. Having spent numerous hours in music studios all over the world, Ameerah has become a well-respected songwriter, who is often invited to co-write with other artists and producers.
“When I started co-writing with other people, I didn't know who I was musically. It took a while to discover my own sound. Writing with internationally acclaimed producers has helped me find my strengths and musical preferences. These people believe in my talent and they have given me plenty of room to grow.”
Regardless of opposition, Ameerah has always been an ambitious girl and it is paying off. “People said I was a fool when I decided to go to the US and Scandinavia to establish my career. I come from a small country and city, but I just felt I should give it a try and went for it. As soon as I had my first placement I was so excited. To hear your songs being played on the radio, appreciated by many, is a feeling of joy too hard to describe. I put my heart in my music and it truly is the best thing to be able to touch people all over the world through a song. ”
With so many fruitful songwriting sessions on her name, placements with other artists all over the world, her own great singles, “The Sound of Missing You”, “Freaky Like me ” (Madcon Feat. Ameerah) and her everlasting determination to succeed, it is only a matter of time before Ameerah, like she writes herself ‘ Will leave footprints in the sky ‘ .
