Shon Penn, Singer/ Songwriter/ Performer/Artist Developer & Finalist of Making the Band 4. Diddy himself Praised him as a future "Big Star”, a comment he only made about Dyshon aka Shon Penn. Diddy chose not to put him in the group dubbing him to be a better Solo artist! He has been honing his craft in NY & Philly since he left home at age 17 after he was told then, by a father no longer supportive of his music, that he had to cease doing secular music with the vocal group he had joined. That very night Shon moved out and hasn’t looked back. Now at 23yrs old this powerful singer/songwriter and incredible performer has gained fans at every performance even his pop has given up trying to persuade him to seek another path!
Shon has been around and is a student of the business as much as his craft. Always studying the billboard charts and the credits of albums from hip-hop to country! He is influenced by all the usual suspects from Micheal, Stevie, & Donny, to R. Kelly & Jay-Z. It's in his blood as his mother is a gifted singer herself & his father is a former musician. He understands that melody makes hits but lyrics make classics! He is a top notch storyteller and is making the music that will be hits of today and the remakes of tomorrow! He also loves to move on stage & is a talented dancer and when the music is moving you can’t keep him still!
His dues have been paid from basement studios to Daddy’ House (Badboy’s studio), Battery Studios (Jive in-house studios), Homecookin' (Lab of Carvin & Ivan) and Studio 609 (production house for Dre & Vidal). currently working along side various producers & writers in Philly & ATL. He has also helped vocal produce many local artist and has been the host of an Artist spotlight night known as PhillyUnplugged. This young veteran has constantly been on stage up & down the east coast and frequently brings his original style to the stage & can often be seen @ The Village Underground in NY, Apache in ATL as well as Fusion's LivePod in Philly when not Headlining his own Show. A true sanger!, he has captured audiences with his edgy sound and often try’s out new material in front of these audiences with overwhelming success and is poised to take on the world next!
