The Salt & the Sea was conceived in Los Angeles in 2011 in an effort to accomodate producer/multi-instrumentalist Brad Reaume to Pablo Sebasitan's pre-existing solo project (Pablo Sebastian is the ex-frontman of Malbec). The monocher only last 3 months and was laid to rest when Pablo Sebastian went solo again upon moving to Chicago and then ultimately Detroit.

In December of 2012, Pablo Sebastian decided to reignite the monocher and now it stands as a permanent fixture for Pablo Sebastian's most stylized works. The album "Cast The Sun Into the Sea" originally completed under the artist name "Pablo Sebastian," has now been moved under the umbrella of "The Salt & The Sea."

The Salt & The Sea will continue on as Pablo Sebastian's main musical project. It will maintain an open, revolving door for instrumentalist/writers/composers to collaborate.

Currently The Salt & The Sea consists of Pablo Sebastian and Ben Collins (also member of Detroit-based pop darlings, Lightening Love).
