omantic, optimistic and youthful, Grace Valerie brings a fresh-faced passion to pop music. Whether it expresses her own deep-seated emotions, inspires others or shamelessly sets the mood, Grace’s music is her weapon of choice and she takes it very seriously. She insists, “I will only sing what is dear to my heart.”
Grace was born in Moscow but raised on American music. In 2010, she figured it was now or never, so she a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles to launch her career. She quickly charmed Hollywood institution Big Management, which took her in and afforded Grace the opportunity to work with the best producers, writers, directors, photographers and choreographers in the industry. Grace was immediately noticed by Grammy Award-winning producer Randy Jackson and signed to his record label, DreamMerchant 21.
With Big and Jackson behind her, Grace released her first single, the playful, sexy, perfectly infectious dance track “When the Lights Go Down.” The single reached #17 on Billboard’s club play chart and picked up very quickly overseas. The music video hit 400,000 views in just two days and reached a staggering 1.5 million views in a few months.
Faced with a bevy of hungry bloggers and a rapidly growing fan base, Grace toured the nation to promote her music. She performed at numerous dance clubs and hosted single release parties in both New York and Los Angeles. A few more late-night shows in Hollywood’s hottest clubs gave Grace’s Los Angeles fans a reason to love her as their own. Each performance showcased her natural glowing confidence and signature, glamorous sense of style.
Energized by the success of her first single and her summer tour, Grace returned to Los Angeles for round two. Even while she stayed put in Hollywood, Grace continued to broaden her reach enormously: Spinning Records fell in love with her and became her European record label, allowing her to share her music with another huge part of the world. She earned a Master’s degree in economics, studying from home, from the GV Plekhanov Russian Economic University. In LA, Grace spent her days singing, dancing, recording, filming, and of course, enjoying all the cultural indulgences that Hollywood has to offer, from celeb-studded red carpet photo ops to fashion shows, food and wine events, and charity functions.
She recorded followup single “Don’t Wanna be Waiting,” a triumphant, soaring dance track that begs to be belted out from the open window of a fast-moving car. A very excited Grace traveled to Seattle, New York, Chicago and Las Vegas to promote the Randy Jackson-produced single, which hit iTunes on November 6. Crowds simply adored it. The video is up next: directed by Taj, it’s going to be beautiful.
Now, back home, Grace spends her days working on her music, performing and enjoying all the arts and culture that her new hometown has to offer. Stay tuned: the next offering from Grace Valerie is coming out soon, and it’s going to be fabulous.
