Forming in Melbourne in the mid 2000's, Blackchords quickly made a name for themselves when the chilling yet beautiful music video for their debut single ‘Broken Bones’ won ‘Best Music Video’ in the prestigious St Kilda Film Festival.
Blackchords went on to released their self-titled debut album in 2009, to widespread critical acclaim and rave reviews and was shortlisted for the 2010 AMP award.

After extensive national touring, the band travelled to France and the UK, touring and playing The Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City festivals.
CMU’s Guide to The Great Escape reviewed the band as, “innovative, fresh, young and vibrant, you must catch them!”. The music video for the band's second single ‘At Worlds End’ received airtime on MTV UK and NME TV.
