Sean Caskey isn't too worried yet - but sooner rather than later he's going to need a new muse. The frontman for Brisbane quartet and Triple J favourites Last Dinosaurs is about to embark on months of touring at home and abroad on the back of a debut album - the whooshing In a Million Years - for which the vast majority of inspiration stems from a single source.
''The truth is, virtually every song has been written about one girl who shall remain nameless,'' the 21-year-old vocalist and guitarist says. ''She knows - sometimes she likes it, sometimes she doesn't. I was with her from the very first songs I wrote.
''I shouldn't write about her any more, and I feel like I've exhausted her memory with the songs on the album, but I just haven't found that next inspiration next.''
Anyone thinking of applying for the position will need to supply a suitably vivid introduction. Caskey, the son of an Australian-born father and a Japanese mother, met his former girlfriend at the Royal Brisbane Show, when the then high school student had gone with friend Alfio Alivuzza (now in a fellow fast-rising Brisbane band, the Cairos) to see another Brisbane group, Expatriate.
