Val&Justin is a boy/girl music duo founded in the spring of 2012. Valeri Rogers, a Chicago native, broadcasted her singing talent in the winter of 2012 and caught the attention of Justin Calalay, a young but experienced guitar player from Atlanta, Ga. Recently departed from the Atlanta based bands Seven Story Fall/ So Contagious, Justin sparked an interest in his and Valeri's marketability and raw talent. Together, they posted and performed popular cover songs around the Atlanta area. Eventually, the combination of Valeri's lyric/melody writing skills and Justin's guitar and music writing talent allowed the duo to record their original EP within months of the formation of the group. Their original music explores the lines between full band pop/rock and acoustic sounds. The success accomplished within a few short months marks the duo's capability to continue their musical journey as artists as well as entrepreneurs. They are currently playing shows around the Atlanta area venues such as the Masquerade and The Vinyl, and gearing up for the release of their new single that they describe as, "a galactic fusion between bubblegum pop, alternative sounds, and danceable bass while keeping our signature electric guitar driven style apparent."
