The creation of ‘Omela’ was conceived by a vocalist of the band ‘Butterfly Temple’ Sergey ‘Abrey’ Abramov. Inspired by the music and lyrics of Abrey’s songs the keyboard player of the same band ‘Butterfly Temple’ Sergey ‘Aven’ Avanesov supported Abrey from the very beginning of 'Omela' project. After a while musicians of the band ‘Necrost’ Alexander ‘Plug’ Makartsev (guitar) and Nail ‘Grindbox’ Magzhanov’ (drums) joined ‘Omela’ that resulted in a very active co-work at the music staff for the forthcoming album. In fall 2008 Ilya Bodrov (bass guitar) and Fedor Vetrov (viola, flute) also joined the new-born band. The debut of ‘Omela’ was on 18 and 19 of January 2009 in St. Petersburg and Moscow correspondingly. Now ‘Omela’ is planning active concert program. The music style of the group is a harmonious combination of the atmospheric dark metal, classic rock with doom spirit and folk elements. The creative work of the band is steeped with the mood of such bands as Pink Floyd, Anathema, Empyrium, etc. The first album’s name will be “Viscum Album”, its issue is planned for 2009. Ref.
