详细介绍

Born in Birmingham, England, Carl Kennedy made the bold move to New York when he was 20 with his eyes set on the bright lights of big city life. During his time as a resident and promoter at GBH (Great British House), Carl entertained more than a quarter of a million people and, on his own terms, did his bit to revitalize New York's house music scene, all the while building his profile and reputation as a major player on the DJ circuit. GBH was housed inside super club Centro-fly (voted America's no.1 club in 2001/2002), which saw him perform alongside every major heavyweight at the time, including The Chemical Brothers, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, Mark Ronson, and Erick Morillo.

In October of 2003, Pete Tong of BBC's Radio 1, proclaimed Carl Kennedy 'one the world's best undiscovered DJs'. A man whose sound holds an undeniable far-reaching appeal, Carl tours regularly throughout every continent across the globe and is a firm favorite from Ibiza's famous Pacha, Space Terrace, Ultra Music Festival in Miami to the Budapest Love Parade in Hungary, where eight hundred thousand people danced up a frenzy. Carl's first ever release, 'The Love You Bring Me' was signed to Roger Sanchez’s Stealth Records. With the support of Sanchez, the House Music icon, Carl's song went onto become one of the top records of 2004 and was dubbed one of the Essential New Tunes on Pete's Tong radio show. More recently, Carl collaborated with breakthrough producer Tommy Trash and Rose Henshaw for ‘Blackwater’ which was released on Subliminal.

Always planting new seeds for future prosperity, Kennedy has also stretched his dance industry wings out to start up stellar new imprint Wasted Youth. The label's philosophy is simple; a 'label run by artists for the artists.' Backed by the iconic Strictly Rhythm, Carl comments, "This is an exciting time in electronic music". "With Wasted Youth, I have the ability to put my stamp on the genre.. I plan on doing this for a really long time!" To that end, Wasted Youth recently signed up-and-coming Swedish producer, Oskar, when his remix of 'Once Upon A Time' caught Carl's attention.

2012 has proven to be a big year already for Kennedy. He was asked to support the Swedish House Mafia for their game changing appearance at Madison Square Garden in December 2011, and has graced New York City's Roseland Ballroom alongside Sebastian Ingrosso. Erick Morillo’s Subliminal Records is home to his most recent release; 'Once Upon A Time' which features the sensual vocals of Australian model turned singer, Cheyenne Tozzi. ‘Once Upon a Time’ peaks and flows with a precise air of energy to form one of the British producer’s finest club outings to date. The track was first featured by Erick Morillo at Ultra Music Festival, and was supported by the legendary producer, Tiesto, in his Clublife 264 podcast. The record was also played on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show a total of 5 weeks leading in WMC.

Carl Kennedy is a man with a sixth-sense for what makes dancefloors move and possesses an uncanny ability to hit the sonic sweet spot time and time again. Indeed, it would seem that music aficionados across the globe are too, discovering his innovative style and not wanting to let go. Be sure to look out for Carl’s newest tracks, ‘Lost in Rio’ and ‘Out of my Mind’ which are forthcoming on his label, Wasted Youth.
