Sirens and Sailors was formed in Rochester, New York in 2005 by Kyle Bihrle, Todd Golder, Kevin Mahle and Josh Deni. As the band developed its core sound, the band made many member changes to get to today's line-up. Doug Court replaced Josh Deni as the percussionist, Jimm Lindsley replaced Kevin Mahle on guitar, and most recently Steven Goupil replaced Nick Lord and his predecessor, Jon Turner on bass guitar.Regarding the longevity of the band, vocalist Kyle Bihrle states, "there are many bands that have experienced the ups and downs of the fluctuating music industry, ourselves being a prime example. Where many bands would throw in the towel, we on the other hand refused to. Honestly, we have learned so much from these past years of experience, but no one determines what you do or who you become except for you. In hard times, we learned from our mistakes, corrected our faults, and came out stronger because of it. S&S has continued to stay motivated and driven because we want it.
