Stephen Emmer (born 28 January 1958) is a Dutch musician and composer. After releasing an album in 1982 he worked in television. He released the album Recitement in 2008, combining his music with spoken word from artists including Lou Reed.
Born in Amsterdam, Emmer was a member of Minny Pops, and worked as new wave artist in the early 1980s, releasing the album Vogue Estate (a soundtrack to an imaginary film) in 1982 on the WEA label Idiot Records, the album featuring guest vocals from Billy Mackenzie and Martha Ladly. He joined British band The Lotus Eaters, also playing with Associates and Act. He went on to work as a soundtrack composer for Dutch television companies.
In 2008 he released Recitement, an album featuring spoken word from Lou Reed, Allen Ginsberg, Richard Burton, Sylvia Kristel, and others, set to his music.
