详细介绍

Eddy Gee took hold of a guitar for the first time at the age of 11, and has not stopped playing it ever since. His mother, who played and sung for herself, thought him his first chords and thus spoiled little Eddy for the rest of his life.

Somewhere halfway the seventies, Eddy discovered rising Country star John Denver and from that moment on his Country mania became a fact. At the early eighties, Eddy -naming himself Eddy Gee- started his career on stage; from then, until his 36th, he played in several all-round bands and he performed as a singer/entertainer, with both tapes and orchestra.

He joined the Dutch country band Dorsley Edition for some time and for seven years he played with the Black Out Band which was based in the Dutch city of Almere. At that time this band, playing covers from the sixties and seventies, was very popular locally, but Eddy did not find the musical satisfaction he was looking for.

According to music-connoisseurs, Eddy Gee has a very remarkable voice, alike to the sound of his main influence, American Country star Vince Gill, from whom Eddy plays some of his best songs. Others judge him the timbre of Eddy Vedder (Pearl Jam), the sadness of Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) and the emotional gasp of Don Henley (The Eagles).

Eddy puts much time into writing his own songs, and with success. He released his first album “There’s So Much That I Need To Say” in the Netherlands on October 10th 1998. The recordings took place at the Nixward studio in Almere, and among the musicians are his former fellow-musicians from the Black Out Band. One of the already recorded songs, "Moving Along" is expected to become a real smasher, especially in the German country-scene.
