Lunitik, whose real name is Derrick Harper, is a rapper/entertainer and current Co-CEO of WeBinElite Music Group LLC. This year, Lunitik is looking at making all the major moves that his time allows. He plans to record and release over 50 songs every 6 months on numerous mixtapes so that he won’t be missed due to the lack of music in this “What have you made lately” type of industry. He also plans to release works with Yo Gotti of CMG, 2 Chainz of Def Jam, Curren$y of Def Jam, Jody Breeze of Young Gunna Records, Kid Ink of The Alumni, Gorilla Zoe, WeBinElite Label Mates, and many more. Lunitik is currently working on his first major label mixtape titled "Recession Proof Music" and dropping it under the WeBinElite Music Group shield. He has been around the music industry since he was 10 years old and in the studio with the likes of Keith Sweat, Gerald Levert, and some of the other legends in that era. He was not born from a silver spoon and understands everything about the struggle. When asked why he finances his own music, he responds "Nothing comes free in this world, I knew that this type of career would require funding so I felt it was in my best interest to do what it takes to get the finances". While not doing music, this Master's Degree in Computer Science grad works as a Senior Engineer for one of the top 5 defense companies in the world to gain the financing for his career as a Label CEO and artist. He laughs when we ask him does he worry about people thinking that he is soft or fake due to the fact that he has so much success with education. He says "A hustla is a hustla rather it's selling dope, bagging groceries, cutting grass, or using somebody to pay for it for me. I saw that selling dope is a way to kill my own people so that isn't a route that I wanted to take or asking somebody for it puts me in debt to them. I figured that I would pick up the books, go back to school, get a degree, and find a good job that could cover my progression as an artist, so if anyone hates on that, then they don't know what the definition of a hustla is. It means get it by any means". This is what set's this bottom to the top artist apart from a lot. While being labeled as troubled in school, he dropped out of high school and after losing most of his friends to death or prison, decided to go back to get his GED, completed some college, joined the Air Force, served his country while he finished his degree to land a job good enough to complete his mission of music success. This is why he always helps the next artist because he loves serving as a mentor to the young troubled teens and young adults to prove to them that it's never over.
