Brenda is a three piece ock and roll outfit from Portland, Maine. Brenda has spent the last couple of years playing out across the Northeast, New York City and California. Over that time, the band has garnered attention from various publications (Consequence of Sound, The Phoenix, The Deli, and Delusions of Adequacy to name a few), fast becoming one of the premier acts in the Northeast.
Brenda’s sound incorporates clean and concise elements of 1950’s rock n roll, with esoteric and breezy turns that suggest a wide range of influences from John Fahey to Built to Spill. They have played with indie stalwarts Wilco, Grizzly Bear, Titus Andronicus, Deer Tick, Avi Buffalo, Dr. Dog, Bear In Heaven, and The Flaming Lips, before heading into the studio to record their debut, SILVER TOWER. Recorded in a dilapitated woodworking shop, across the bay down by the oil tanks, the album caught the ear of Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), who upon hearing an unfinished version of the record, personally invited the band to perform at the first ever Solid Sound Festival.
