Conceived as a pissed off, knee jerk reaction to a disbandment, Left For Wolves started as a modest creation from Regan Hughes in his "bedroom" studio. Swiftly gathering friends from local bands to form the first lineup, in just 6 weeks the band played it's first gig.
What started as one mans raised middle finger to his situation and contempt for the volatile state of the music scene soon went from the humble to the auspicious as the band found themselves playing that first show in support of international metalcore giants "Parkway Drive". This then gave the band the opportunity to play their second show sharing the stage with U.S. mosh pioneers "Bury Your Dead".
Looking at getting their music down on tape, an EP of 6 songs was recorded in 2009. In true hardcore fashion this was recorded at home and then released as a free digital download to positive worldwide review.
Relocating and refocusing, late 2009 saw Regan search for permanent band members. Re-united with old time friend Chris Meekin to create a solid core of the like minded, the two took their time in finding the right people to complete the lineup. Finding members from the Melbourne hardcore and metal scene to fill the spaces and take to the stage, 2010 has been the band at it's strongest yet.
With roots firmly in Hardcore, Left For Wolves take on a more metallic and harder edge than most bands currently mixing the two genre's. The lyrics are confrontational and abrasive ranging from a fantasy driven tale written from the mind of a killer to a real life personal story of vigilante justice.
Left for Wolves take a strong musical stance. At no stage will their sound or approach by watered down. The result is a potent and hard hitting sound with pure aggression and energy. The Music features guttural vocals with modern breakdowns intertwined throughout, reaching plateau after plateau before coming crashing down.
With shows being a priority the band is driven to perform live. Well on the way to writing a full length album, 2011 looks to be the time for Left For Wolves to release new music and take it to the stage in front of as many people as possible.
