Protostar is the alias of Alex Mallows, a 20-year-old producer based in Bedfordshire, England. He is also the first neurohop producer signed onto the label. He currently has 3 releases on the label and made his debut on Monstercat with Scorpion Pit, the label's first neurohop release, charting at No. 4 on the Beatport Glitch Hop chart. In early 2013, he, along with MakO, produced No Fire, which hit the No. 1 spot on the Beatport Dubstep chart. Both aforementioned tracks were released on Monstercat 013 - Awakening. Later on in 2013, he released a VIP Mix of his first track, Scorpion Pit, along with 3 other remixes. The VIP Mix was released on Monstercat 015 - Outlook.
