详细介绍

Dinora Marquez is an Australian born Singer Songwriter from Sydney, She discovered her voice at the age of twelve when she sang ‘How do I live’ by Leann Rimes for a school performance, then soon realizing her twin sister Virginia Marquez had the same ability they instantly became a duet. Their mother Myriam Marquez always believed in her daughters natural ability in singing, dancing and acting since a very young age and now that she knew they wanted to pursue a career in show business she went with the twins to all kinds of talent shows across Sydney and organized shows for them to perform at.

At the age of fifteen, Dinora wrote her first Pop/RnB song, which she then asked her sister to participate in writing a few more tracks. The way they came about writing their own material was through their brother Alexandro Marquez who is also a singer songwriter himself. Alex was always there for the girls, mentoring and teaching them about the music and life and how to write. Their dancing and singing teacher at the time Irene Caldis-Zarate from IC Academy of Dance and Arts, suggested them to record their tracks and passed them onto Antonio Egizii and David Musumeci from DNA Songs. They recorded five demo tracks and sent it out to some industry people. They had many first time opportunities and opened many doors for the two girls, however they were advised to wait until the two girls have matured before thrusting them into the limelight.

Dinora and Virginia's natural progression as artists sent them down the road of Pop/Rock, and the two girls started writing new tracks. They then went back to DNA Songs to record their three new tracks ‘Free to Live’, ‘So Much’ and ‘Moving on’. David and Anthony suggested that they enter into the MusicOz competition. They did and achieved a top 10 placing in the MusicOz Awards in the Pop category and held position 23 for the Peoples Choice National Music Oz Award for 2007 against thousands of artists.

Dinora and Virginia missed performing so for a few years they worked on starting a band when they came across a few boys who were interested in forming a band with the girls. Dinora and Virginia were very interested and formed the band in 2010 and named themselves ‘ The Written Crusade’. Throughout the year TWC got to perform at Sydney’s famous music venues such as The Vanguard, Metro Theatre, Annandale Hotel and Oxford Factory as well as performing in small festivals around their area.

In 2011 ‘Free to Live’ and ‘So Much’ was played on the Australian reality TV show Freshwater Blue and ‘Free to Live’ was also chosen to be on the official soundtrack for the popular TV series, which was very exciting for the girls.

Soon after the soundtrack was released, the band went their separate ways and Virginia also decided to take another path whereas Dinora still wanted to take the rollercoaster ride of the music industry and decided she will continue the path and become a solo artist. Dinora and Virginia remain inseparable and she is still a big influence on Dinora’s songwriting.
