micha-ciselle. This half Jamaican, half Trinidadian beauty was born a twin on April 8th in Kingston, Jamaica. A lover of life, this go getter has lived in seven cities in her lifetime, but currently, Pasadena, California is the object of her affection. Known for her electrifying performances and interesting arrangements, this Island gem came on the California music scene in 2010 and has been at it ever since.

Her parents, lovers of the arts, exposed micha-ciselle to all areas of artistic life at an early age. Since she was able to walk, she studied dance with some of the most renowned personalities in Jamaica and was part of a performing arts group for 5 years.

While in Jamaica she has had the opportunity to work with various notable producers and musicians including guitarist Chinna Smith (Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill) and guitarist/cellist Cat Core of Third World (multiple time Grammy nominee). She has also appeared on various internationally acclaimed events such as Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues, Port Royal Music Festival and Reggae Sumfest.

In 2010, micha-ciselle was afforded the opportunity to attend Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) having received their most prestigious scholarship. She studied under the mentorship of Tierney Sutton (multiple time Grammy nominee) and Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, American Idol) and in 2011, graduated with the respect of her teachers and peers. She has since been invited back as a vocal/band coach for their 2011 Summer Program.

micha-ciselle also sings with her church praise team led by Musical Director and bass extraordinaire, Juan VanDunk. New to the team is pianist Donn Wyatt, who has worked with the likes of Anita Baker, Whitney Houston and Al Jarreau, to name a few.

micha-ciselle enjoys fusing the captivating rhythms of her roots with other styles. She believes all music is related and enjoys experimenting with this. Her signature sound is highly syncopated beats with groovy, alluring baselines typical of dancehall and reggae with a distinct pop/rock influence.

micha-ciselle continues to perform in California, having played at venues including Whisky A Go Go, Club 72 North and various music festivals. She looks forward to the completion of her demo which will allow people to hear her eclectic arrangements of covers as well as her originals. Look out!
