DJ Madness otherwise known as Matthew Shaw started out as a DJ in the skating rinks of Fayetteville at 16. Matthew went on to DJ in local Fayetteville clubs while working his way through college. After a brief stint at the famous Odyssey Nightclub in Wilmington he returned to his hometown to take the helm of SYDS at the I-95 Holiday Inn, Fayetteville. After Graduation he decided to take up DJing as a full time profession, picked up and moved to San Antonio where he did regular appearances at Rockwave and The Bonham Exchange. In 1991 he moved to new Orleans and was hired as the Head resident of the booming Gators Nightclub. It wasn't long before people were queuing up in lines around the block to get in and hear his breakbeat and Techno sets that usually progressed until 7 am in the morning. After hearing Matthews progressive music sets and mixing skills he was invited to OZ on Bourbon Street as the Head Resident DJ. Here his career took off, often playing marathon sets 6 nights a week lasting untill 9 Am or later on weekends. During his residency he was invited to be a Billboard Magazine Dance Chart Reporter in 1997. He earned the nickname Madness from the crowds frenzied response to his driving Progressive and tribal house sets. Record Label Promoters, Execs and Artists were regular fixtures at OZ during his tenure.
After leaving OZ in 2000 he performed regularly as a guest DJ for clubs and raves in cities like Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, Norfolk, Virginia, Raleigh and many more.

After a brief sabbatical he has returned to DJing but this time spinning trance and putting in more studio time as a producer and artist.
