Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, this 5 piece metal core outfit strives to blend heavy with clean, creating a harmonious balance of brutal riffs and catchy hooks. Bound For Ruin began in late November 2010 when guitarists Ben Langtree (Acacia/Turns To Ashes) and Ben Gordon put their heads together with the intention to meld their vast musical influences into a comprehensive and coherent form. After the rise and fall of Turns To Ashes, David Palmer joined the duo on drums where the beginnings of their debut album ‘Divisions’ would start taking shape. In September 2011, they headed into Studio Anders Debeerz headed by the widely known and respected producer Adam Merker with whom they had worked with before on bands such as Acacia and Turns To Ashes. Bound For Ruin pained through months worth of rigorous vocal auditions and it wasn’t until vocalist Shaun Coar entered the fold (also fronting This Collision) in October 2011, bringing his versatile voice and hard working, professional attitude. Mitchell White (Daywalker) then completed the picture with a renewed thirst and passion for bass guitar.
Supporting Acacia, Hours of Exile and Erase The Thought in February 2012, Bound For Ruin are now set to unleash their unique sound to the masses with their debut album ‘Divisions’ which will be released on Friday, April 13, 2012. This coincides with their album launch at Monstrothic, Jubilee Hotel, Brisbane supporting Double Dragon on the same date. Bound For Ruin have an unquenchable thirst for playing heavy and melodic music and look forward to seeing you at a show in the near future!
