Boundaries are meant to be pushed. Lines are meant to be crossed. At least they are in Christen Cole’s world. In 2010, Christen released, "Just Walk Away," through E B Records, owned by veteran Nashville-based recording engineer/producer Bret Teegarden (DC Talk, Michael W. Smith, Twila Paris) who believes music should be brought back to its original purpose of creating art. Bret says that, "Christen’s songs weave a tapestry of emotions and ideas into a catchy, singable work of art that appeals to all ages."

In addition to being a pop/rock artist, Christen is on staff at Brentwood United Methodist Church, one of the largest Methodist churches in the nation at 8,000 members, as a worship leader. The requests began to pile in for a worship album, so Christen went back into the studio again with Bret Teegarden, and "To the World" is set to release January 10, 2012.

Christen pushes the boundary of the “girl with a guitar” stereotype as she plays her own acoustic guitar parts live and in the studio, rubbing elbows with some of Nashville’s finest musicians. She is also hired frequently to work with other artists. Currently, Christen plays guitar and sings background vocals for Alex Maddox, Abigail Rose, and Lauren Mazur.

Christen takes her music beyond lines of culture and time as she is a part-time missionary with the organization Restore Haiti. She was connected with her "second family" in her “second home,” Jacmel, Haiti before the January 2010 earthquake and is turning her idea to build an orphanage there into a plan.
