We all have a shadow side — the side that arrives on the scene after the sun has found us out — the side that florescent light bulbs can’t figure exactly.
And, with the discovery of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1923 film The White Shadow, I’m comforted by the thought that other works of art may be out there. Other now silent, but animated images may be hidden in a basement or in some dilapidated barn, and none of us may know until we don’t know much of anything in the epistemological sense. Until we are known posthumously, but not fully. Or until we are known fully, but not posthumously.
