Includes members of the industrial band Acumen Nation. Czar formed in January 2009 and released a self-titled EP in June 2009, which received a 5/5 from Metal Underground. In January 2011, Czar recorded their debut LP, Vertical Mass Grave, with Matt Talbott (Hum) at GWRR. It was released on LP, CD, and Digital on December 6, 2011 via Cracknation. Decibel Magazine praised Vertical Mass Grave for it...s "musical ambition that goes beyond simple brutality or pop-minded success (8/10)" and MetalSucks declared "the manner in which this group blends atmospheric guitar work with pummeling heavy riff pocket grooves and tribal tom acrobatics is fucking devastating (Best of 2011)." Vertical Mass Grave was also nominated for a 2011 Metal Storm Award for Best Alternative Metal Album. Czar embarked on a North American tour in direct support of Killing Joke in the spring of 2013 before once again entering Talbott's renamed Earth Analog studio to record their second full-length, No One Is Alone If No One Is Alive, due out November 4, 2013 via Cracknation.
