Take The Earth Beneath Us began in late 2010. Members: Matt Charlton (guitar), Ty Kingston (guitar), Cody Muraro (vocals), Chris Hatch (drums), and Aaron Iwanow (former bassist) forged an original group with influences in metal and hardcore. After several months of writing and preparation the group entered Rain City Recorders to create their first release—a five song self-titled EP with renowned engineer, Curtis Buckoll. The band is based out of Vancouver British Columbia. Their style is notable for aggressive, technical guitar riffs, memorable choruses, and unforgiving breakdowns.

In May 2011 TTEBU announced themselves to the public by distributing their EP online and at shows. Wasting no time, they toured Western Canada and quickly attained an impressive fanbase—in less than half a year their EP accumulated over 3500 online downloads. They shared stages with prominent acts such as Misery Signals (Ferret Music), After The Burial (Sumerian Records), Bermuda (Mediaskare Records), Structures (Sumerian Records), Volumes (Mediaskare Records), and many others.
