A few years after early label interest led Alexis Keegan down a lighthearted pop/dance road, the multi-talented New Jersey bred, L.A. based artist and performer is keeping it raw, real and edgy on Clean SLATE, her infectious independent debut.
The multi-talented performer, who is gearing up for her first major tour as the opening act for fellow pop/rocker Ron Pope late this winter, chose the clever title of her EP to reflect two powerful currents in her life: making the choice to move from the East Coast to pursue her career in Los Angeles, and the idea, artfully expressed with the acronym SLATE, of "Seeking Life After The End" of a relationship — a driving theme in many of her songs. The five track set embraces and adds a rock edge to her early R&B roots, lays her soul bare and turns her personal losses into universal expressions of hope.
