英国着名的独立流行(Indie-pop)乐队Blueboy最早由主唱Keith Girdler和吉他手Paul Stewart成立。早在1983年，Keith Girdler就在一个Party上遇到了后来乐队的吉他手Paul Stewart，两人聊起了唱片以及他们喜欢的那一类型音乐，然后决定组一个乐队，几年以后，在补充另外三人进入乐队之后，他们组成了一个叫Feverfew的乐队，乐队在他们Reading的家乡小有名气。在这个乐队的短命生涯里，只有一次他们算是露了脸，那还是在天空电视台的一个业余的"Band Show"上。在Feverfew解散以后，两个男孩眼睁睁着卧室里成堆卖不出去的Feverfew单曲，他们还是决定重新开始。
　　1991，Blueboy在一个朋友的录音棚里录制完成他们的第一个Demo，然后把"Clearer"一首歌寄给了当时已经声名显赫的独立流行乐厂牌：SARAH。在这个秋天，SARAH同意为Blueboy发行他们的第一张单曲"Clearer"。随后Blueboy补充了几名新成员，包括第二吉他手Harvey Williams（曾在Field Mice和Another Sunny Day fame），后来的大提琴手兼第二主音Gemma Townlet是看着一个召集乐队成员的广告前来应聘的，此外还有贝斯手Mark以及鼓手Lloyd，新的Blueboy在92年夏天带着一首"Popkiss"回来了，随后发行了一张完整大碟"If Wishes Were Horses".
　　两年后，随着"Meet Johnny Rave" 和"Some Gorgeous Accident"两首单曲的出现，Blueboy重新露面，在这一年的春天，Blueboy发行了他们第二张大碟Unisex，然后贝斯手Mark和鼓手Lloyd离开了乐队。大提琴手兼女主音Townlet随之客串了Bass手一职，而Martin Rose也进入Blueboy填补了Lloyd离开后的空缺。又一个新的Blueboy在1995年发行了单曲"Dirty Mags"
　　95年年底Sarah公司关闭的时候，公司合伙人之一的Matt Haynes成立了新的厂牌Shinkansen，一并把Blueboy也带了过去，并在96年发行了单曲"Love Yourself"，此时乐队再次回到了最初的二人组合主唱Keith Girdler和吉他手Paul Stewart。
　　在主音Cath Close, Bass手James Neville和鼓手an Gardner的帮助下，Blueboy完成了98年的专辑The Bank of England，据说这也是乐队的最后发行一张作品，随后Girdler和Stewart重组了Arabesque以及后来的Beaumon 。

Reading, England-based indie-pop outfit Blueboy was led by singer Keith Girdler and guitarist Paul Stewart, who previously teamed in the little-known Feverfew. Upon recording the first Blueboy demo in a friends shed, the duo sent a copy of the song Clearer to the famed Sarah Records label, which agreed to release the track as a single in the fall of 1991; with the subsequent additions of second guitarist Harvey Williams (of Field Mice/Another Sunny Day fame), singer/cellist Gemma Townlet, bassist Mark and drummer Lloyd, the group returned in mid-1992 with Popkiss, soon followed by the full-length If Wishes Were Horses. Resurfacing the following year with the singles Meet Johnny Rave and Some Gorgeous Accident, Blueboy issued its second LP Unisex in the spring of 1994; soon after Mark and Lloyd left the band, with Townlet assuming bass duties and Martin Rose signing on to play drums for the 1995 single Dirty Mags. When Sarah folded later that year, label co-owner Matt Haynes formed the new Shinkansen imprint, bringing Blueboy with him to release 1996s Love Yourself; by this time the line-up was again reduced to the original duo of Girdler and Stewart, with vocalist Cath Close, bassist James Neville and drummer Ian Gardner completing the lineup for 1998s The Bank of England, reportedly the bands final release. Girdler and Stewart also recorded as Arabesque and later Beaumont.
