“I love performing. I feel like I can just be myself and let it all go. It’s the best feeling in world,” declares new school R&B sensation Trevante. The young rising star is quickly becoming the next big thing in not only music, but also the lives of girls everywhere. His debut album, "I Am Trevante" (Imani Records) arrives February 7, 2012, as Trevante sharpens his musical chops with a series of slamming singles and songs that will make the universe take notice. With a swift eye for fashion and voice reminiscent of the greats, Trevante is ushering a new age of performers.

Trevante moved to Atlanta at a young age with the full support of his family behind him. He committed to an aggressive performance and vocal schedule, consistently gaining experience and honing in on his talents. Trevante’s hard work ethic opened doors for him to perform with the likes of artists including Bow Wow, Keke Palmer and Nick Cannon. He used these performances as leverage to establish himself as a great all-around performer.

In 2010, the buzz around Trevante rumbled through all parts of the music industry and quickly attracted the attention of industry heavyweights; one being Manny Halley, who ultimately became Trevante’s manager. With Halley behind him, Trevante signed with Imani Records.

Trevante released his first single “Be My Girl” via Imani Entertainment Group in the Spring of 2011. The single quickly became a favorite on 106 & Park and garnered the attention of teen girls across the country. As a result, Trevante toured on BET’s “106 & Park: Closer To My Dreams Tour” with the likes of Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior, Tyga, Lil Twist, and Jawan Harris.

“Trevante is the total package,” says Halley, also the President of Imani Entertainment Group and Imani Records. “He writes. He sings. His future is bright!”

After signing a publishing deal with Imani Music Publishing/Warner Chappell, Trevante set out to work on his debut album with the help of some of the music industry’s greatest writers and producers including Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Diane Warren, Rico Love, The Underdogs, and Troy Taylor. While the work is mainly all Trevante, some features arrive with Soulja Boy and New Boyz.

His first single off the upcoming release is the R&B crossover, “Be Your First”. Produced by Tank and Song Dynasty, the song tells the modern day story of Romeo and Juliet with a Pop-R&B twist. The video for the single was directed by the visionary Benny Boom and has an epic cliffhanger.

“This album is special because it’s my introduction to the world,” Trevante explains. “It’s about love and purity. It shows my R&B side, my pop side, and it’s just overall good music.”
