Burning The Day was formed in 2005 by Chris “the psychotic” Gillespie, Matt “the weirdo” Metcalfe, Mike “similes and sunshine” Cohen and Braden “the sensation” Hoey. They all shared the same vision of writing bone crushing, heart pounding, ass ripping, boob flapping, melodic metal that would make anybody want to drop their pants. \"In Fall She Sleeps\" was the result of this all inspired vision. The album was completed in early 2006 and was released off of Blue Pie Productions and Cryptic records. The album got positive reviews from all credible magazines that reviewed it ie: Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Metal Sludge, Alternative Press etc... Immediately following the release of \"In Fall She sleeps\" BTD started writing the follow up album known as \"Dawn of Thorns\". BTD worked long hours in the studio with Gary the Fairy Honess (who also produced In Fall She Sleeps) to bring the vagina spreading vision to disc. Immediately after the release of Dawn of Thorns BTD hit the road touring and playing shows across Canada and the United States. The guys were very proud of the outcome of Dawn of Thorns but knew they could do and had to do better.

A change had to be made to allow their creativity to come to life. A second guitarist and a new drummer were the missing pieces of the equation. The obvious choice was to move Matt “the weirdo” Metcalfe to guitar due to him being the main riff writer in the band since day one. They quickly recruited Steven William “the dragon slayer” Mitchell as the new drummer for BTD. This change allowed them to go from bone crushing, pussy pounding, ass ripping, boob flapping melodic metal to bone shattering, pussy annihilating, ass bleeding, boob fucking, melodic metal. BTD, yet again, immediately followed the release of \"Dawn of Thorns\" (released off of Blue Pie Productions and Cryptic records) with writing for their 3rd record known as “Blacklisted”. They worked harder then anyone ever thought was possible coming from 5 douche bags from Toronto. “Blacklisted” was produced and recorded over a span of six months between three different studios, including: Spin Studios in Queens, New York with engineer Paul Sourez who has worked with such acts as Lamb of God, Atreyu, Guns and roses, Nas, etc, and between two studios in Toronto, Ontario with their main engineer Gary “the Fairy” Honess. The album turned out better then BTD could have hoped. The long hours, hard work, beer drinking and sexual intercourse paid off.

At this present time BTD is playing show after show and are working very hard to expand their already substantial fan base. They are also constantly writing new music. They never stop writing and never stop progressing. Hard work and dedication is shared by every member of the BTD family, and family is exactly what they are. Best friends that have known each other for a very long time and would saw off their mother’s cocks in order to succeed. They have recently released their first music video for \"Left for Wolves\", (track 2 off of Blacklisted) which includes live footage from their headlining SOLD OUT cd release show at the Opera House in Toronto. They are also gearing up to shoot a story-based video for \"Rope in Hand\" (track 5 off of Blacklisted). Burning the Day has played a ton of shows over the years and have sold out countless venues in that time. BTD has toured and played with such bands as: Throwdown, The Black Dahlia Murder, Soil Work, Beneath The Massacre, Bring Me the Horizon, Bury Your Dead, Nights Like These, War of ages, Arise and Ruin, Threat Signal, The Destro, 3 Inches of Blood, Ghoatwhore, Ion Dissonance, A Text Book Tragedy, Ring Worm, Baptized in Blood, Kingdoms, etc.........

In Closing, We wrote this, not to be immature or insulting. We simply wanted to be different and we understand you receive huge amounts of press kits that are all very boring and similar to one another. We don\'t take ourselves too serious but we take the music and the business extremely serious and know what it takes to succeed.
