The Cookie Band has long been one of Charlotte N.C.s hottest and most consistent performing bands in clubs and local venues as well as one of the most requested wedding bands in the Carolinas. The band is composed of six of the areas top musicians. Cookie features James French (keys, background vocals), Lantz Oglesby (guitar, background vocals), Cory McClure (drums, background vocals), Michael Rugh (percussion, background vocals), Robert Luney (bass, background vocals) & Roy Daye, Jr (lead vocals, guitar) . Sax and/or trumpet are often available upon request depending on date and location.

Cookie is a high energy and very versatile band. At any Cookie engagement, one may be treated to hear a vast array of artists that keeps your party flowing, from Bill Withers, Sinatra, Sam Cook, and tunes from the Motown era including artist like the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. You will hear this ensembles versatility in the current top 40 artists like John Mayer, Maroon 5, Nelly, Kanye West, Jay Z, Ne-Yo and Dave Matthews.

Immediately in 1997 as soon as this group was formed, they became an instant success for privates & fraternity parties, wedding receptions and large draw for the areas best night spots for live music. This success is due to their quality musicianship and an extensive, varied song list which encompasses full repertoires of 70s, 80s, and top 40, old school and contemporary R & B, modern jazz, instrumentals, beach music, and even a touch of alternative rock.

After receiving a standing ovation as an opening act for Boys II Men, Cookie has added to their resume performances as an opening act for Cameo, Run DMC, Morris Day & the Time, Bruce Hornsby, Hall & Oates and Uncle Kracker.
