With an undeniable talent, Singer/Songwriter SAM HOOK received his first songwriting placement with his song "Forever Ain't Enough" on J. HOLIDAY's sophomore album, Round 2 in 2009. He then moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles in 2010.
Sam Hook was born on May 29, 1988 in Brooklyn, NY as the middle of five children. Sam's family later moved to quieter Elmont, Long Island. At 9-years-old, Sam wanted to achieve the goal of making it in music after his older brother realized his talent. With Sam's determination and persistence, he began molding his craft as a songwriter. By the time he was 15 he was in the studio.
In 2006, Sam linked up with aspiring rapper Ramel MEL Carter and began making music with Mel's team, N.B.H. While working with Mel, Sam landed the opportunity to have his first meeting with Jay-Z. Each of the group members performed for Jay-Z individually. Although not ready to be big time, Jay-Z respected Sam's talent as a singer and songwriter. Before the meeting came to a close, Jay-Z said, "let your name reach mine and I will throw you a bone." Sam's motivation to succeed then tripled.
In 2008, Sam signed a management deal with Neyo's "Compound Entertainment."
