I know that in many interviews I wonder why this album is called Rosewood . I'll have to invent something .... : A Model of UFO vintage fifties ? Is the wood that guitars are constructed and use baseball bats to smash the drawers I try where I pigeonholed ?
Rosewood is my fourteenth studio album. HdS Four with eight solo , one with Nacho Vegas and another with the collective Bushido . All of them consider search disks . A constant flight forward . An endless journey that never comes to an end and you intended not pass twice through the same crossroads. So , I think that ' Rosewood ' is my fourteenth disk transition.
Most musicians showed in our first- recordings and clear , what our influences and favorite artists albums . When we meet a few years and I recorded a lot of albums , we seem to strive to demonstrate and point out what were our roots proud . Fulfilled and both natural inclinations , I wanted to be a disc Rosewood contemporary, content and hopefully nothing navel-gazing . Personal , modern and universal . I counted again with ' The Holy Innocents ' ( with whom they recorded ' Hellville de Luxe ' - 2008 , ' Consequences ' - 2010 , ' Grand Rex ' - 2011 and ' Bachelor Canteen ' - 2011 ) . I asked them to keep some distance in their interpretations . No dramatics , ...we already know ! I wanted , too, that the guitars and keyboards will sound to date instruments , away from tics and platitudes . Most of what it sounds like , as a metaphor , we recorded with newly purchased instruments .
A part of my regular band , we have the cooperation of a female vocal trio of gospel, a symphony orchestra and an expert in synthesis of sounds and frequencies.
Is it a rock album ? And I do not know! What!
Being the producer of my own albums gives me total control over what I say and how I want to say . I accept the role of director of a film in which I have also a role of actor. I directed a movie complex with many nooks and readings . You may first listen , flip , and given the time , difficult and extreme . I'm really sorry , I'd like to make records for all audiences , but I get these .
Rosewood is a hard coral . It coexist , metaphorically , many voices. Many opinions . No one defends a position or opportunity . I am in favor and against the contention . Depends on the day and time. But a common thread, to which I cling itself underlines what is said in the majority of the songs. This is the real and urgent need for change. The unsustainability of the human project as we advocate , or advocate on our behalf.
In the three years that I was writing the material that sets this album, the weariness and alienation was young and not so young , to take to the streets to voice discontent and disenchantment in Mexico , Spain , Chile , Colombia and USA . In Greece , in Tunisia , in England and in many other parts of the world simultaneously. I tried to make a social disk and voice a general sense , but I'm back to talk about myself and how I lived and felt .
I divide the album into two parts : The first digital and technological musically covers the initial enthusiasm of some cynicism , despair and negativity of others and the logical conclusion that no revolution succeeded without bloodshed. The second , more organic musically , is the inward gaze : the real change is only possible in a minimum circle of friendship or relationship , the validity and timeliness of the indigenous beliefs and the final conclusion that real change begins and ends in themselves and that any changes , or truly spiritual , or not.
Some asked me anxious and concerned about the meaning of the cover . A boat in the desert , called 'God is Love ' , sighting a UFO ? Do you begin your Christian era ? Are they as harmful and irreversible side effects of drugs? I hope what the songs , the cover , videos and tour, have the readings enough to give the answers the listener. I hope that, somehow, after the questions that the author did ( or I did) building Rosewood sonic universe , new issues arise in the head who will listen and hopefully enjoy.
