Charles Reed is synonymous with talent, voice, perseverance, faith and a steel will. His name exemplifies hard work and he arrives just in time to invigorate the pool of young talent. Charles Reed launches his career as an artist and he hopes the world is ready for what he has to offer.
Charles Reed was born in Cleveland, Ohio into a family with high moral values
grounded in strong educational principles while possessing diverse artistic
abilities helped shape the responsible young man that we know today. At the
early age of four, Charles began singing, by his mother’s side in the choir at a
local church and by age 5 he took top prize in his schools’ talent show,
performing Michael Jackson’s “BEAT IT.” At age 14, young Charles decided to
seriously pursue his dream to become a professional entertainer. With the solid
support of his family, Charles began to map out the path to success in
entertainment that he wanted to achieve.
Under the tutelage and mentorship of, Grammy Award winning singer “Joe
Little” formerly of ‘The Rude Boys’ with hit single “Written All Over Your Face”.
Charles experienced firsthand, valuable lessons on how to capture an
audience. First lesson learned – “give your all no matter the size of the crowd,
large or small.” As the heat of his passion to become an acclaimed entertainer
continued to kindle, Charles decided to attend Full Sail University in Orlando,
Florida after graduating from high school.
While attending Full Sail University, majoring in Recording Arts, Charles was
introduced to Producer Yung Hollywood. Yung Hollywood recorded a demo on
Charles and presented it to his father Cedric Hollywood - Former Program
Director of the popular radio station WEDR 99 Jamz (Miami). With the
opportunity to continue his passion to sing, Charles packed up what he had and
left school to move to Miami. “My Parents didn’t agree with the decision I made,
but I said this is what I want to do, they said go for it”, expresses Reed.
The hard work began to pay off when his first record “Fallin’” introduced Reed to
music fans, but it wasn’t until his follow up record “Jook Wit Me” hit radio
airwaves, sparked a buzz in Miami that Charles began reaping the fruits of his
labor. It has become a major part of the Miami Dance Movement called “The
JOOK” because of the fans, “Jook With Me” began reaching radio success
throughout the Southern and Midwest regions. With no specific genre of music
on Charles Reed’s mind, creating music from the heart is his goal. "I just want to
express myself and live up to my expectations as a man, not even a moon man
could see what I see, creating an impact is my goal" muses Charles.
Even Jive A&R MEMPHITZ has taken interest, working with Charles and signing
him to his production team. "I support Charles Reed, he is the future" adds
Memphitz.
Adding actor to his resume, he has performed in plays at the Ohio theater in
"Once On This Island" as (Papa Ge) "West Side Story" as (Tony) ", "Marvin Gaye
Story" As (Young Marvin) and also winning several Actors Guild Awards. Charles
has currently landed a major role as DRE in the upcoming film “The Magic City”
written & directed by famed R. Malcolm Jones. “All this is expressing me, the arts
are my playground and I’m like a child” expresses Charles. With a lot more to
conquer and lot more to learn, there is no sign of this man slowing down.
