Elvira Barjau is a bi-coastal (Los Angeles and New York City) professional vocalist, musical theatre singer/actor/dancer and member of Actor’s Equity Association. Elvira earned a degree in music from Berklee College of Music, where she completed studies in Jazz, Pop, Rock & Musical Theatre vocal performance. Her love of travel and her ability to speak and sing in four languages (English, Spanish, French and Portuguese) led her to work with Royal Caribbean Cruiselines, taking her to Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, South America, Eastern/Western Caribbean, Central America, Eastern/ Western USA and Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and New Zealand. Elvira is also a Guest Entertainer for Princess Cruises. On the East Coast, Elvira has performed as Jazz Vocalist at various festivals including the Newport Jazz Festival and as featured guest vocalist for the Steppin’ Out Big Band at the Boston World Trade Center. Her versatile and extensive vocal range also led to a position with Berklee’s Gospel Choir and performances with Natalie Cole in her Boston’s Take A Look concert. Elvira has performed as guest soloist with Manhattan Transfer for N.A.R.A.S., and with Al Jarreau, Brenda Russell, Maureen McGovern, Gregory Harrison and Jason Graae. Elvira has performed in Regional Musical Theatre in New York, including Miss Saigon at Westchester Broadway Theatre. In Los Angeles, CA, Elvira has performed at the Fullerton Jazz Festival, and for Reprise! Broadway’s Best, Musical Theatre West, Cabrillo Music Theatre, and South Bay Civic Light Opera Society; favorite roles include Anita (West Side Story), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Marty (Grease), Marian Paroo (The Music Man), Lady Larkin (Once Upon A Mattress), Charity (Anything Goes) and Phyllis Dale (42nd Street). Elvira has also appeared on television as a singer for Spelling Productions, and in local and nationally televised commercials. Resume available upon request. ....................
