After a stupendous set opening this year’s Splendour In The Grass, Jinja Safari launch their debut EP with two adventures in Sydney and Melbourne. On September 18, you can catch them at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne & at The Goodgod Small Club in Sydney on September 23. Since being unearthed by Triple J, first single ‘Peter Pan’ has featured heavily across the J’s as well as across national community radio. The EP is making early accolades as ‘Indie Album Of The Week’ (The Brag) with new single ‘Forest Eyes’ already dancing it’s way into independent radio across the country. Marcus Azon & Pepa Knight (together Jinja Safari) have by all accounts had a busy few months – emphasis on ‘few’ as the duo had only come into contact early this year. The recordings that followed – now known as their debut EP – were brought to life with the help of close friends Joe Citizen (bass), Jacob Borg (drums) & Alister Pattern (percussion) who together also make up Jinja Safari’s high energetic live adventures, something they are quickly becoming renowned for. A testament to their latest shows, which have seen them open Splendour In The Grass and support the likes of Jonsi, The Strokes, Grizzly Bear, Band Of Horses and more recently a national tour with Art Vs Science.They have also been announced for Coaster Festival (Gosford, NSW), Big Sound Music Conference & Valley Fiesta (Brisbane), One Movement Music Showcase (Perth) & they cap off the year at Falls Festival in December.
