Fourteen year old Timyra-Joi has a motto. "always believe in yourself and follow your dreams." it was this motto she brought to her songwriting sessions. that inspired the powerful, uplifting and soulful song "what kind of world". using this song as a vehicle, timyra-joi is fulfilling her dream of spreading a message of hope and love to the world. some of timyra-joi’s influences are celine dion, jennifer hudson christina aguilera, yolanda adams, aaliyah and beyonce. timyra-joi had roles in movies and numerous tv commercials and print ads, including universal pictures "curious george the movie." she has acted in numerous theater productions, most notably as cindy-lou who "how the grinch stole christmas" at the old globe theatre. Timyra-Joi was recently casted in a broadway production workshop written and composed by duncan sheik and steven stater. a trained dancer since the age of 3 she has danced in many locations. Timyra-Joi performed numerous vocal performances, the national anthem for various major league ball games including a padres game and a chargers game, national school board association event, at angels stadium, and a san diego police officers association just to name a few. in 2007 at age 9, timyra-joi was featured as one of americas most talented kids on the maury povich show. timyra-joi also won the vh-1 save the music songwriters award for her song "what kind of world", have been nominated for the los angeles music award for best inspirational song of the year. timyra has many talents that make her special, but are not well known, one most are not aware of is she speaks fluent german. another, she is passionate about helping endangered, abandoned and abused animals. as matter of fact, timyra's biggest personal goal in life is to be "the voice" for such animals.
