Zoe: "I was born and raised in Samothraki, Greece. During my early years in music I was self-taught. As a child I used to play every Saturday with my father – which is a traditional violinist – in fests where the dance “balos” is the most known and the best entertainment you can get in the island. This is where all the flirting used to take place, since all the boys and girls were anxious to hold each other’s hands and join the dance. At the age of eighteen, after taking 2 years of music courses in Alexandroupoli, my teacher recommended me for tutoring at the annex of the conservatoire "F. Νakas" in Didimotiho. Thus, by the end of my school years, I found myself having 30 pupils. But still I was feeling pretty anxious, since I realized that I prefer to learn than to teach someone else. After that I came to Athens to study at the nursing school. The music though still had a great influence on me. Within a month, I start playing professionally in a folk orchestra, taking courses at the same time in the “Skalkota” conservatoire and I also bought my first piano. I have just taken my degree in the piano, when I found -forgotten somewhere in my house-a green accordion, that invite me to explore it. This is when everything changed for good."
