Henning Schmiedt was born in 1965 in Schlema/Saxonia.
He played, arranged and produced for many international artists like Mikis Theodorakis, Maria Farantaouri, Jocelyn B. Smith, Zülfü Livaneli, Wu Wei, Georgeos Theodorakis, Sema, Lauren Newton, Maria Del Mar Bonet, Milva, Dimitra Galani, Al di Meola, Petros Pandis.
He was doing concerts in Europe, Asia, Australia with his music that crosses the boundaries between jazz, world and contemporary music. Recently he was composing chamber music and vocal music (Requiem) as well as works for cinema and theatre and released solo piano albums.
His arrangements for Jocelyn B. Smiths CD “Blue Lights and Nylons”/ songs by Gershwin and Weill were awarded with a jazz award.
He also received an award of the German music critics for his arrangements of Maria Farantouris CD “Way home”.
