Sidiki DIABATE, Little Prince of the Kora was born in Bamako, Mali, it is from the 72th generation of one of the most exceptional families of griot and kora players, the griot instrument par excellence.
Sidiki DIABATE is the son of Toumani DIABATE (Grammy Awards 2006 and 2010) and the small son of Sikidi DIABATE (Appointed in 1977 FESPAC Nigeria as the "King of the Kora"), so even if the precautionary principle should be applied systematically to discuss the genealogy of a young musician, this name he did not choose is not a coincidence. Indeed, Sidiki already mastered perfectly the practice of the iconic 21-string gourd. Remember that these 21 strings are transmitting a memory, knowledge and culture and that only study and work have allowed Sidiki to gain maturity and personal expression while respecting the tradition.
