Jaime Read has been involved with house music since the early nineties and this influence is still highly evident in his sound. His first interaction with music dates back to 1984 when he used listen to Mike Allen’s UK Fresh Show on Capital Radio and in 1987 he was listening to tapes from Schoom and Spectrum. Having solid foundations, by 1991 he had produced a number of tracks, one of which Richie Hawtin wanted to release, however this never happened since the track was only recorded on cassette tape. During the nineties, most of his releases had been released on labels such as Relief (1995), Peacefrog, Basement 282 (1997), Target (1996) , Ugly Records (1996), Tenth Planet (1994) and Fragmented Records (1997), however he was not credited for most of his work since several tracks were released under the artist name Joe Lewis.

In the past few years, Jaime, now a father of four kids, has been producing different styles of music including a collaboration with Felix Dickinson under the name of L.H.A.S. Inc. which music was released on Wax (2003), Eskimo (2004), Cynic (2010) and his own label Push 2 Shove.

Read is influenced by everything and anything; Hip Hop, Soul, Rock n Roll, Raggae, Blues and from an endless list of names he includes Curtis Mayfield, Marshall Jefferson, De La Soul, KRS One, Bob Marley, Lou Reed, Larry Heard, Kate Bush, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Talking Heads and undoubtley most of the originators of Detroit Techno…Kevin, Juan, Derrick……..
