In celebration of National Youth Arts Week, the Waterloo Public Library is challenging local teens to a songwriting contest. The contest is open to youth between 14-18 years of age and closes on May 1.The winner of the contest will receive a mentoring session with Canadian singer/songwriter, Scotty James.Writing the music and lyrics for an original song sounds really daunting to me. However, my dear, musical pal, Zubin Thakkar, happens to be an excellent songwriter and all around musical prodigy.
