Passionate and electrifying, up and coming singer-songwriter Nolan Rashawn brings a smooth melodic vocal talent to the world of R&B and hip-hop. Nolan has a Civil Engineering degree from UCD, where he also spent his time as a student athlete. After graduating he decided to focus on his musical aspirations –

I enjoyed the time I spent at UCD studying engineering, but now it’s time to make a career out of my true love – music.
Musical influences have always been a factor in Nolan’s life. He began singing at an early age where he gained a deep appreciation for the soulful sounds of old school artists such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sly and the Family Stone, and Earth, Wind, and Fire along with more contemporary R&B inspirations like R-Kelly and Ryan Leslie. Growing up in the Bay Area he was surrounded by a distinctive and thriving hip-hop and R&B culture which helped to turn his musical dreams into reality in 2008 when he began recording hooks with his former group known as the F-Squad.

Nolan sought to further pursue his career as a solo artist in 2009 when he transitioning from a group to an individual artist. He has collaborated with producers and upcoming artists and performed throughout California. His vocal contributions on the Bay Area’s own Smoovie Baby’s, “Blowing Up My Phone” gained Nolan widespread attention and quickly launched the song to becoming a radio smash throughout the Bay. More recently, his smooth and sultry vocal work in aspiring hip-hop artist Get Right’s, “Just Kick It” reflects Nolan’s ability to bring his audience into his music.
Nolan is concurrently working on his first and widely anticipated mixture, along with his first studio album. Nolan’s motivation for his upcoming releases simply lies in his desire to introduce a new sound to the world of R&B and hip-hop while presenting his audiences with the gift of good music that intrigues listeners of all genres.
