Almir Sater Eduardo Melke (Campo Grande, November 14, 1956) is a guitarist, songwriter, singer and Brazilian instrumentalist and performed as an actor in soap operas. His style is characterized by experimentalism and his music is classified as timeless. Adds a typical redneck sounding 10-string viola and also with influences of border cultures of their status as the Paraguayan and Andean music. And the result is unique: while reflecting popular traits and scholars, attracting attention of diverse audiences.
With over 30 years of solid career and recorded 10 solo albums, Almir became one of those responsible for the preservation of the 10-string guitar being reinvented, the musician added to a more sophisticated instrument, seasoned touch with foreign styles such as blues, rock and folk, a mixture of folk, classical and popular music, considered timeless. His latest CD, Signs 7 (2006), brings an eclectic and innovative repertoire and has cameos of accordionists Dominguinhos and Luiz Carlos Borges
