SHE has sung on cruise ships and in London's West End so singer Anna-Lee Robertson was not the least bit nervous when she belted out some of her favourite tunes at Port Fairy's Spring Music Festival yesterday. The Port Fairy born-and-bred soprano performed alongside pianist Len Vorster in her one-off show Sing for your Supper at the Reardon Theatre for the last day of the festival.Ms Robertson has had highly-acclaimed performances in musicals such as Man of La Mancha, Annie and A Slice of Saturday Night both here in Australia and internationally. She last performed at the Spring Music Festival eight years ago."It's really satisfying to be back in Port Fairy to sing," Ms Robertson said."I thought I would be nervous singing in front of family and friends but I'm strangely serene, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."Port Fairy is such a special place for me and has such a strong musical presence with not just the Spring Music Festival but the Folk Festival as well so it's wonderful to be back."Ms Robertson finished a year-long tour earlier this year as Madame Giry in Phantom of the Opera. She said one of the highlights of her career was spending six months on the Queen Mary II as principal soprano."It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity working on QMII, sailing around the Caribbean before I returned to Australia," she said."There were some days when I would be performing on stage that night and the next morning be up on deck seven working on my tan."It didn't seem like work, I had too much fun."
