Biography
Joseph Trapanese is a Los Angeles based music composer, arranger, and producer. Beginning in 2009, his two-year collaboration with Daft Punk produced the critically-acclaimed soundtrack for Walt Disney Picture's "Tron: Legacy." His work on the franchise continues as composer for Disney's animated series "Tron: Uprising." He is currently collaborating with M83 on the highly anticipated score to Universal Pictures' "Oblivion" starring Tom Cruise. Alongside Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park he co-composed the score for Sony Picture Classic's action film "The Raid: Redemption," winner of the Toronto Film Festival's Midnight Madness Award. Released in October 2011, M83's ambitious double LP "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming," (called "sumptuously arranged" by Pitchfork and named one of its top albums of the year) includes Joseph's orchestrations on five original tracks. In 2012 he collaborated with Moby and James Newton Howard on "The Bourne Legacy," as well as with 3Oh!3, co-writing and co-producing their single "Do Or Die" for their forthcoming album. Joseph's orchestrations can be heard in Showtime's "Dexter" and Universal Picture's "Fast Five," as well as "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," "What Happens in Vegas," and "Traitor". Trapanese also remains active composing and producing music for concerts, recitals, off-Broadway plays, and other live performances.
