Javier Alvarez was born in Madrid's Cuatro Caminos in Madrid on October 7, 1969.

His musical influences come over pop song that traditional copyright. His influences are ABBA, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, The Eagles, Tracy Chapman, Nanci Griffith, Suzanne Vega, and Emmylou Harris.

Start studying English Literature, and in 1991 spent some months in London, where he began to pursue music.

Back in Spain he touched the Metro de Madrid and the Parque del Retiro, then going to bars and cafes like Libertad 8 mythical, where he met other songwriters as Pedro Guerra.

In 1994 he recorded his first album, with the collaboration of artists like Ana Belen, Victor Manuel, Luis Pastor, Pedro Guerra, or Rogelio Botanz. Songs like "The age of the future" or "One, two, three, four," catapulted him to fame. He also recorded a version of "The cardboard houses" theme Venezuelan singer Ali Primera.

In 1996 Javier Alvarez recorded his album followed two, and three years later, in 1999, his album Three, where he experimented with electronic sounds and letters more "radical". Her song "Father" was censored in major music radio.
